Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a psychosocially impairing and cost-intensive mental disorder, with the first symptoms occurring in early childhood. It can be diagnosed reliably at preschool age. Early detection of children with ADHD symptoms and an age-appropriate treatment are needed in order to reduce symptoms, prevent secondary problems, and enable a better school start.

Children with ADHD are often creative thinkers who flourish with the right support. But 68% of children with ADHD feel frustrated at school and people with ADHD are more likely to have difficulties reading. Adults with ADHD experience greater challenges finding work are nine times more likely to end up in prison and have a higher mortality rate than those without.

A diagnosis of ADHD requires an evaluation by a licensed clinician such as a psychiatrist or psychologist who specializes in ADHD. At HPB we assess and diagnose ADD/ADHD for children and adults in a few sessions and provide tailored treatment recommendations and referrals. The treatment is aimed at understanding issues of inattention, impaired concentration, hyperactivity, and restlessness.
