Dr. Max Cynader is Director of the Brain Research Centre, and the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health at Vancouver Coastal Health and The University of British Columbia (UBC). In addition, he holds the Canada Research Chair in Brain Development at UBC and is Professor of Ophthalmology. He is also a Member of the Order of Canada (CM), Member of the Order of British Columbia (OBC), Fellow of The Royal Society of Canada (FRSC), Fellow of The Canadian Academy for Health Sciences (FCAHS), and a Principal Investigator in Canada's Network of Excellence in Stroke.

Experiences Build Brain Architecture

The basic architecture of the brain is constructed through a process that begins early in life and continues into adulthood. Simpler circuits come first and more complex brain circuits build on them later. Genes provide the basic blueprint, but experiences influence how or whether genes are expressed. Together, they shape the quality of brain architecture and establish either a sturdy or a fragile foundation for all of the learning, health, and behavior that follow. Plasticity, or the ability for the brain to reorganize and adapt, is greatest in the first years of life and decreases with age.

Healthy development in the early years provides the building blocks for educational achievement, economic productivity, responsible citizenship, lifelong health, strong communities, and successful parenting of the next generation.

NEUROPLASTICITY TRAINING: HUMAN MOVEMENT

Neuroplasticity training is a strong partner in skill development as well as disease prevention. This workout is a combination of physical exercise, good nutrition, and brain training.

 Movement, for example, is one of the faculties of our body managed by our brain, the contraction of one muscle implies the inhibition of another, the simple movement of walking has an enormous complexity to materialize.

 One of the very important factors in this complexity is a neurotransmitter called Dopamine. The absence of it in this scope may imply a neurodegenerative disease, Parkinson's.

In this sense note the importance of our body to produce dopamine, things as basic as walking and even feeding ourselves may be concerned, hence it is important to care about food, ingest food that provides dopamine production, the need of physical exercise and above all the training of our brains to ensure a good performance and not allow the deterioration of the chain of command.

The influence that Neuroplasticity has on learning.
